NO REVENGE MISSION

The former Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic has said that he will not be looking to get revenge on his former team when he faces the Spanish club with his current team AC Milan in the last 16 stage of the Champions league.

The former Barcelona youth team product is currently on loan at the Italian club from Roma. After failing to settle with Roma, he has been loaned out to AC Milan for the rest of the season. Due to the lack of striking options for the Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri, there is a chance that Krkic could be facing his former team for the first time.

Krkic was regarded as one of the best young talents in world football when he was coming through the Barcelona youth academy. However, his inability to develop his game meant that Guardiola was unable to give him a regular first-team opportunities. As a result, he had to move to the Italian club Roma in search of regular football. Krkic has said that he wants to score in this match is not because out of revenge for Barcelona, but in order to help his teammates. Barcelona is the clear favourite coming into the match due to the several problems faced by the Italian team.

“I have wanted to play and score against Barca, but not out of anger or bitterness, which I do not have, but in order to help my teammates. Would it be a point of vindication? Yeah, but for the importance of the game. To not play in the 2011 Champions League Final at Wembley really hurt me and I did not get a chance. It is difficult for anyone to perform if you do not have continuity and you do not feel important. At Barca I was important in key moments at an historic club," said Bojan Krkic.
