Mark Hughes has confirmed that his star forward Bojan Krkic is all set to return

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed that his star forward Bojan Krkic is all set to return from a long spell on the sidelines.

The former Barcelona forward was a star signing for the club last summer. He was expected to take a long time to accommodate to the physical style of English football, but it happened much sooner than expected. Just when it seemed that Bojan Krkic was set to take the league by storm, a long-term injury sidelined him for much of the 2014-15 season. Even without the star asset, Stoke were able to enjoy a good campaign.

Hughes wants to build on this season and Stoke have already targeted a number of top players who will be capable of keeping them in the top half of the table. However, a more important task was to bringBojan in the best possible shape and this seems to have happened according to plan. Hughes has confirmed that the 24-year-old will be in the contention for a place in the squad for the upcoming games against West Brom and Arsenal. The upcoming League Cup game against Luton Town may provide a perfect opportunity to reintroduce the striker to first team football.

"I've had conversations with Bojan so he knows my thinking in terms of where he is and what he needs to do.He's progressing really well. But I'm mindful we've got a game on Tuesday as well, and a number of guys will be involved in that.Whether I involve him at the weekend or wait to give him more significant time on Tuesday, we'll just have to wait and see," said Hughes. Last season, the forward ended up with four goals in 16 games with most of these coming in the first half of the league campaign.
