Liverpool are interested in buying Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic for £17million. Publication Sport comments that despite the Merseyside club adding two strikers in the January transfer window in the form of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, they remain on the hunt for attacking talent.

As a result, they have identified the Barca product as a potential addition, and are willing to spend up to €20 million (£17m) to prise the 20-year-old from the Nou Camp.

It is unlikely that current coach Pep Guardiola will want to part with a player that he sees playing a key role in the long-term future of the Catalan giants.

However, despite signing a new contract until 2015 and being given the No.9 shirt, he has failed to impress on his rare first-team outings this season, scoring just three goals in 18 appearances.
