BOJAN SAYS BARCELONA SHOULD SIGN FIRMINO AHEAD OF MARTINEZ

Catalan giants Barcelona were reportedly very close to the signing of Inter Milan's Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez. The striker was on fire last season for Antonio Conte's side and was tipped to make a switch to Spain, joining Barcelona ahead of a more prolonged stay in Italy.

Just about the same time, Barcelona were trying to lure him away from Inter Milan, the Italian club were also in talks with him and were trying to convince him to tie his future to the club. The prolific striker scored 16 goals in 31 appearances for Inter in the 2019-20 season and it looked highly likely that he was leaving the club.

However, the deal fell through even after the departure of Luis Suarez from Barca. The striker left Barcelona in favor of a move to the club's direct rivals Atletico Madrid. The move made it seem certain that Martinez was packing his bags and moving to Spain but the football world was made to wait for nothing.
And now, a player who knows a lot about Barcelona, BojanKrcic has advised his former club to ditch signing Lautaro Martinez and sign Liverpool's Roberto Firmino instead.
Bojan says Firmino can link up play from central position and can do it far better than Martinez would be able to do it.
According to Krcic, Martinez is a really good player but is not a naturally gifted center-forward and can't make runs into positions that would allow the other forwards enough freedom to roam into the opposition box.
Krcic also said Firmino has incredible mobility, commands a lot of presence, can bully defenders, and has remarkable technical abilities.
Despite what Krcic thinks, it would be an uphill task for Barca to prize Firmino away from Anfield, as he still enjoys the connection he has in place with fellow forwards Salah and Mane.
