Bojan Krkic suffered a major injury just at the right time

Bojan Krkic suffered a major injury just at the right time when he looked like settling into the Stoke City team and into the Premier League as well.

Signed from Barcelona last summer, it was seen as a major gamble from Mark Hughes to sign a player who may not have seen the physical side of the game until now.Krkic has the experience of playing only in the Spanish and Italian leagues before joining Stoke City. It took him a couple of months to get his game going, but just prior to being injured back towards the end of January he had scored three goals in five games.

Still only 24, the Spaniard says that he is confident of getting back to his best. Back when he was scoring a lot of goals for Stoke, Krkic was on the verge of being recalled to the Spain national team by manager Vicente del Bosque. It is expected thatKrkic be back in time for the start of the new season. The youngster says that his good performances came largely because of manager Mark Hughes’ immense belief in his abilities. Hughes is thought to have been a primary factor in convincing the former Barcelona man to move to the Britannia stadium.

"I miss football so much. It's all I've ever known. There is not a substitute for that buzz. As a footballer, you know it is a career where you risk injury. That's why you have to play with a smile and try to enjoy every moment. You have to think, "I will be back". I have thought a lot about this. The best is to think little by little, and eventually you arrive at the end goal. That is why I read all these books. I am now off the crutches. I can walk now, then I want to walk quicker, then jog, then to run ... by the end, you're scoring goals and the fans are screaming your name,” said Krkic.
